FRIEND OF THE CLUB

A Friend of the Club is a special person of note who is not able to achieve full patch status within the ranks of the Watchmen MC. This Friend is not nearly a associate, hang around or a supporter. The Friend of the Club is just that, a trusted and respected friend.

The reasons this person is not a member varies. It can either be a civilian with their choice of profession, a officer with a strained level of available commitment. A civilian or officer with a disqualifying brand of motorcycle. Or last, personal choice. It would be incorrect to assume that just because they are a Friend of the Club they are not a police officer.

In this club brotherhood and friendship are the foundation so the title of "Friend of the Club" is meaningful and highly valued.

Many LEMC clubs allow civilian or non-sworn membership within their ranks. Though that is their personal choices as far as their own club bi-laws, the Watchmen choose to guard their ranks more securely.

We have made no secret that the Watchmen MC allows only sworn officers to full patch status but we will recognize those special assets close to our organization. Just because a Friend could be a civilian they deserve the right to be bikers. They also deserve the right to hang out with fellow riders who live the lifestyle they want to live and with riders who will not cause them any problems in their personal or professional lives.

We as a club care very much about people like this and even though we do not grant membership, we will protect them as if they were a Member of any chapter. They are family to us and are treated with respect. This Friend has no back patch, no voting privileges and is limited to his involvement in club affairs. This Friend is accepted into the riding pack as a brother and is invited to go wherever the Watchmen go.

His patches worn have rules and guidelines as well. If he chooses his name tab will be given (associate level) in club colors to be worn on the front left side of his vest. If he is a outstanding associate and is put up for Friend of the Club a vote will be taken by the chapter and he is awarded the 5" round Friend of the Club patch. This is the only patch that he will wear that bears the name "Watchmen" on it.

Those Friends who have really connected with a individual chapter member can be awarded a chapter side rocker. This is meaningful because the member who awards it is not allowed to wear that same said side rocker while the Friend has it on his vest.

To achieve Friend status you have to show that you are not just a supporter but a contributing voice to the overall benefit of the club. This patch must be respected as if if were a full set of colors.

Though the patch is awarded for life, If at anytime that Friend conducts himself in a way that reflects negative on the club then his status will reviewed by the membership.
